This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.
• Execute and manage the creation of civil/structural engineering deliverables in line with the Company Management System, current regulations, project specifications, and relevant international standards.
• Review and verify deliverables produced by others to ensure technical precision, quality, and compliance.
• Offer technical information and engineering support to the project team.
• Engage in technical design and project reviews to ensure alignment with customer requirements and QHSE standards.
• Operate effectively both independently and as part of a larger engineering team.
• Lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams when necessary.
• Identify and present opportunities for individual and departmental training and development.
• Comprehend both internal and external customer needs and ensure they are effectively addressed.
• Foster strong customer relationships through clear, consistent, and proactive communication.
• Interface with internal engineering disciplines and external project stakeholders, including clients, fabricators, and site contractor representatives.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to convey technical requirements, such as loads and mounting geometry, while supporting access and clearance needs.
• Report directly to the Global Civil | Structural Engineering Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering in Louisiana and Texas.
• Over 5 years of experience in structural engineering and heavy foundation design for large reciprocating machinery with substantial dynamic loading in industrial applications.
• At least 5 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, operations, or other technical roles within a multidisciplinary petrochemical design environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
• Confident in decision-making, taking initiative, staying organized, and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Site experience, including construction support, troubleshooting, site surveys, or fabricator shop work.
• Current knowledge of civil and structural international standards applicable to petrochemical process plants.
• Familiarity and experience with AISC 14th Edition, ACI 318-08, ASCE 7-10, NFPA 101 2012, and IBC 2012.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard visualization and calculation tools, including Navisworks, STAAD Pro, RAM Elements, Mathcad, SAP2000, Tekla, and other Bentley engineering software.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
