• Sculpt, model, texture, and implement creatures that adhere to artistic, gameplay, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with design and animation teams to ensure creatures enhance gameplay readability, maintain strong silhouettes, and exhibit clear behavioral roles.
• Partner with technical art and engineering teams to guarantee that creature assets are optimized for real-time multiplayer gameplay in Unreal Engine 5.
• Assist in defining and refining creature pipelines, asset standards, and best practices for streamlined production.
• Contribute to the development of various creature archetypes, ranging from simple, production-efficient enemies to hero or showcase creatures.
• Balance visual aspirations with practical production limitations, selecting solutions that optimize quality, speed, and reusability.
• Support implementation tasks such as materials, shaders, modular creature components, and integration workflows as necessary.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to fellow artists and help elevate the overall quality across the team.
• Stay informed about contemporary creature-art workflows, real-time character techniques, and new tools that enhance quality and efficiency.
• Extensive professional experience as a Character Artist in the gaming industry, showcased by a strong portfolio exhibiting exceptional creature work for real-time applications.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, game-ready creatures with robust anatomy, form language, materials, and texture detail.
• High proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya or Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Solid understanding of real-time art pipelines, optimization processes, and implementation strategies for games.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or a similar real-time engine.
• Comprehensive knowledge of topology, UV mapping, baking, texturing, and material creation for high-performance in-game assets.
• Ability to work collaboratively with animation, technical art, design, and engineering teams.
• Keen eye for shape language, silhouette clarity, and how creature visuals align with gameplay roles.
• Self-driven and production-oriented, capable of taking initiative and progressing tasks with minimal oversight.
