Senior Category Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete sourcing lifecycle from start to finish — including strategy, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.

• Develop and implement category strategies that provide a competitive edge, not merely cost reductions.

• Act with a proactive mindset, making informed decisions even when faced with incomplete information.

• Anticipate sourcing opportunities before they are requested by stakeholders.

• Oversee all phases of contract redlining and negotiation within a dynamic, high-volume setting.

• Handle multiple priorities from business owners, stakeholders, and leadership effectively.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions at competitive prices.

• Evaluate industry trends to foresee challenges and create contingency strategies.

• Strike a balance between speed, quality, and risk while achieving cost-saving objectives.

• Advocate for Samsara's Operating Principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of strategic sourcing experience, with at least 4 years concentrated on software.

• Proven track record of career advancement and expanding scope of responsibilities.

• Excellent negotiation and communication capabilities.

• Established ability to build relationships with executives, stakeholders, and suppliers.

• Experience in redlining contracts alongside Legal teams.

• Comfortable working with a high degree of independence.

• Capable of managing a substantial volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
