This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the development, adjustment, and oversight of intricate 2D AutoCAD drawings for steel frameworks, automation systems, and robotic configurations.
• Work in close collaboration with the 3D Revit Team to guarantee that 2D outputs accurately mirror 3D models, spatial limitations, and structural necessities.
• Analyze engineering specifications, architectural blueprints, and technical documentation to create comprehensive and precise design packages.
• Take ownership of and enforce CAD standards, quality assurance procedures, and best practices throughout the design team.
• Review, verify, and endorse drawings produced by junior designers to ensure precision, feasibility, and compliance.
• Identify potential design risks early, suggest solutions, and assist in technical decision-making for large-scale projects.
• Oversee multiple intricate projects concurrently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely delivery of all drawing packages.
• Mentor and guide junior Designers in CAD techniques, standards, workflows, and project execution methodologies.
• Contribute to the advancement and ongoing enhancement of CAD templates, libraries, automation tools, and drafting processes.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to industry codes, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, installation teams, and external partners to support project success from inception to installation.
• Deliver drawing packages that minimize field rework, installation delays, and engineering change orders.
• Maintain drawing accuracy and consistency to support efficient fabrication and installation.
• Enhance team productivity by contributing to CAD standards, reusable content, and workflow optimization.
• Act as a technical authority in 2D structural and automation layout design, shaping long-term CAD strategy, including programming language (AutoLISP; PYTHON) trends and enhancements for automated 2D geometry creation.
• Ensure project deliverables meet or surpass quality benchmarks, fostering customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• A minimum of 5+ years of AutoCAD design experience in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, or related fields.
• Expert-level proficiency in 2D AutoCAD with the capability to produce intricate, highly detailed drawings.
• Strong comprehension of engineering principles, steel structures, and construction/manufacturing processes.
• Documented experience leading design efforts and coordinating with cross-functional teams, including 3D modeling groups.
• Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Experience in material handling, automation systems, or industrial settings is a significant advantage.
