This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Develop and negotiate advantageous pricing for complex procurements, encompassing terms, schedules, and provisions related to purchase orders and acquisition contracts.
• Administer purchase orders, maintain documentation, finalize procurement activities, and manage supplier relationships.
• Create solicitations, assist with proposals, perform price and cost analyses, and negotiate terms related to pricing/cost and subcontract provisions.
• Procure complex and high-risk items through intricate negotiations with suppliers.
• Engage with suppliers and assess their operations to understand factors influencing prices, quality, reliability, and schedules.
• Evaluate proposals and select or recommend suppliers accordingly.
• Suggest enhancements to procurement processes and procedures.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, cost and price analysis, and regulatory compliance, including TCoPD requirements.
• Collaborate across functions regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
• Support and review the efforts of other buyers and assist the team as needed.
• Develop or review prime-contract flowdown documents to ensure compliance and mitigate liability.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including reviews of purchase-order files and responses to customer data requests.
• Participate in peer reviews and provide mentorship to other Buyers.
• Typically requires a BA degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• A robust customer service orientation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and possess strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of government contracts is preferred.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within the team and cross-functionally.
• Costpoint experience is preferred.
• Experience in negotiating terms and conditions is preferred.
• Understanding of build-to-print, fabricated parts, and components is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency-specific supplements such as the DFARS.
