Senior Business Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as the strategic intermediary among Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Customer Support, and business stakeholders.

• Transform business needs into clearly defined business and functional requirements tailored for scalable software solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to outline requirements, evaluate business processes, and promote continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

• Facilitate software product delivery through business analysis, requirement specification, and solution validation.

• Engage in backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement clarification, and release readiness activities.

• Evaluate customer feedback, support trends, and enhancement requests to determine business needs and propose product improvements.

• Leverage operational and product metrics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and advocate for ongoing improvements.

• Spearhead cross-functional collaboration among product, engineering, quality assurance, customer support, operations, and business stakeholders.

• Document and enhance user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and business documentation.

• Ensure traceability of business requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Assist in requirements analysis, solution design, release planning, launch support, Early Life Support, and ongoing product enhancements.

• Take part in User Acceptance Testing, validate completed functionalities, and ensure that delivered solutions meet documented requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.

• Over 5 years of experience supporting software delivery, product development, or business systems analysis.

• Proven experience working within Agile software development teams.

• Experience in facilitating requirements workshops and conducting stakeholder interviews.

• Proficient in documenting and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.

• Experience in supporting software releases, providing production support, and post-release stabilization activities.

• Familiarity with Agile work management and backlog tools, including Jira and Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of Confluence and various collaboration platforms.

• Experience with business process modeling and workflow documentation tools, such as Visio and Lucidchart.

• Understanding of SQL querying and relational database concepts.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and system integration principles.

• Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms, including Power BI, Tableau, and DOMO.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile product setting.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate within cross-functional product teams.
