This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Act as the crucial technical liaison between product strategy and engineering execution.
• Collect and document requirements while crafting detailed technical specifications for engineering implementation.
• Take ownership of comprehensive initiative design, encompassing data models, integration specifications, API contracts, and definitions of edge cases.
• Develop prototypes, proof-of-concept scripts, and lightweight automation solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers throughout the development process, including design reviews, sprint ceremonies, code walkthroughs, and pull request evaluations.
• Create and sustain process flow, sequence, entity-relationship, and data-mapping diagrams.
• Establish test strategies and write test plans and test cases.
• Lead efforts in User Acceptance Testing.
• Conduct complex data analysis to validate requirements, identify edge cases, and aid in design decisions.
• Convert business requirements into technical language and frame technical constraints as business-understandable trade-offs.
• Recognize risks related to requirements completeness, integrations, data quality, and delivery scope; suggest mitigations and escalate as necessary.
• Mentor junior Business Systems Analysts in technical analysis, specification writing, and collaboration with engineering teams.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and writing code.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise projects.
• Proven track record of successful delivery and execution.
• Strong systems thinking and process mapping skills.
• Ownership of acceptance criteria and quality.
• Expertise in data analysis and generating insights.
• Knowledge of testing strategies and quality assurance practices.
• Experience in partnership and participation in system architecture/design.
• Ability to identify risks and improve processes.
• Capable of driving user adoption.
• Relevant professional experience may substitute for a preferred Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business systems analysis, technical analysis, or a related field, with a proven hands-on technical contribution.
• Preferred: proficiency in database analysis.
• Preferred: experience in writing Python, JavaScript, or Bash scripts for data validation, automation, or prototyping.
• Preferred: familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering collaboration tools.
• Preferred: experience in API design, integration patterns, and data modeling.
• Preferred: understanding of testing frameworks, automated testing, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Preferred: certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or other relevant technical certifications.
• Preferred: experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
