This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define comprehensive solution architectures for business challenges in the mortgage technology sector, covering data ingestion, transformation, automation, storage, governance, and consumption across various systems.
• Create reusable, scalable, and cost-efficient patterns that take advantage of automation opportunities.
• Convert business outcomes into designs that fulfill performance, resiliency, security, and cost goals.
• Prepare project proposals and decision architecture review documents that present clear options, trade-offs, and recommendations for executive-level decision-making.
• Develop proofs-of-concept (POCs) and reference implementations to mitigate design risks and confirm feasibility.
• Validate executed solutions against approved designs, recognize deviations, and initiate corrective actions.
• Ensure that designs remain practical and implementable throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts and other Solution Architects to promote designs and ensure consistency with standards and roadmaps.
• Clearly communicate intricate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; encourage the adoption of best practices and reusable patterns.
• Provide architectural direction to engineering leads and delivery teams during implementation, ensuring that scope, timeline, and quality are consistent with the design.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to data governance, privacy, and audit standards. Assist with architecture reviews and control checkpoints.
• Incorporate DevSecOps principles into solution designs to guarantee security and compliance from the outset.
• Assess emerging technologies; lead experiments and transform successful approaches into platform enhancements. Champion modernization efforts and influence platform/architecture roadmaps.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology (IT) environments (required).
• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise solution architecture, data engineering, or cloud platform design.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing or implementing automation platforms.
• Extensive experience in mortgage operations (including both originations and servicing).
• Experience utilizing Generative AI or machine learning solutions in a production setting.
• Demonstrated experience working within mortgage technology, financial services, or regulated industries.
• Proven success in designing scalable, enterprise-level solutions across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Platform Expertise: Deep knowledge of Snowflake, Azure, or similar cloud data platforms. Familiarity with ICE Mortgage Technology products or analogous mortgage technology ecosystems. Understanding of modern data architectures including data warehouses, medallion architectures, and workflow automation patterns.
• AI & Automation Knowledge: Understanding of Generative AI architectures, LLM integration patterns, and AI/ML deployment considerations. Familiarity with automation frameworks, workflow orchestration, and robotic process automation (RPA). Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI practices, and ethical AI considerations.
• DevSecOps & Compliance: Robust understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices. Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments, data governance, privacy regulations, and audit frameworks. Familiarity with mortgage industry compliance requirements.
• Architecture & Design Patterns: Ability to create reusable, scalable solution patterns and reference architectures. Experience with technology trade-off analysis and decision frameworks. Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mortgage Servicing Business Understanding: In-depth knowledge of loan servicing platforms and operations, including loan accounting, payment processing systems, and escrow management. Understanding of servicing workflows, loss mitigation strategies, default management procedures, and regulatory compliance frameworks specific to mortgage servicing. Familiarity with portfolio analysis, performance reporting, and investor relations within the mortgage servicing context.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with APIs, SDKs, and integration platforms. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, and SQL. Familiarity with version control and CI/CD principles. Experience with business intelligence, analytics, and automation platforms.
• Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong presentation and documentation abilities. Proven capacity to influence and achieve consensus among stakeholders. Excellent listening and partnership skills.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation: Advanced analytical and critical thinking abilities. Capacity to foresee risks, envision solutions, and foster innovation. History of effectively managing ambiguity and complex, multifaceted challenges.
• Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mortgage industry processes, workflows, and regulatory landscape. Extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing operations, including loan portfolio management, payment processing, escrow management, forbearance programs, default servicing, and borrower communication. Familiarity with real estate lending operations and borrower experience optimization. Awareness of mortgage industry regulatory requirements.
