Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, test, and distribute dashboards, metrics, and reports for both internal and external users.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize data and metric definitions while proposing new metrics and strategies.

• Provide analysis-ready datasets by merging internal and external data sources.

• Track data for anomalies and enhance the visibility of outages and system issues.

• Collaborate with data engineers to comprehend upstream data modifications and update related BI solutions.

• Empower business users to utilize self-service tools.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to ensure scalable, automated reporting.

• Engage in peer reviews, quality assurance activities, and Agile ceremonies.

• Assist in the onboarding process for new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence.

• Practical experience with Domo is essential, including the creation of dashboards, datasets, dataflows, and reporting solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, querying, and reporting.

• Strong SQL expertise, including data modeling, query optimization, and stored procedures.

• Proficiency in Python or R for data extraction, transformation, and visualization.

• Demonstrated ability to narrate stories through data visualization and convert complex data into actionable business insights.

• Experience in defining and standardizing KPIs and business metrics in partnership with stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a comfort level in ambiguous situations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience in Agile and fast-paced work environments.

• Background in building integrations with SaaS APIs such as Salesforce.

• Production experience with dbt.

• Familiarity with additional data warehouses like Redshift or BigQuery.

• Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.

• Certifications in BI tools (Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Looker) are a plus.
