This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Execute assigned tasks related to Business Intelligence development.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, leading the design, development, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and security of reporting applications.
• Manage Business Intelligence applications, including upgrades, patching, configuration, and directory/security administration.
• Provide support for infrastructure administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of BI applications.
• Formulate strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.
• Create SQL queries and modifications to resolve issues and generate reports.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions for report development.
• Lead development teams and review specifications for reports.
• Convert business requirements into secure reports, dashboards, visualizations, and report objects.
• Ensure the validation of audit, reconciliation, data quality, and reporting processes.
• Establish and maintain security architecture, security administration, and workflow automation.
• Conduct unit tests and coordinate test plans, test data, and integrated testing.
• Design and produce executive, functional, research, financial, and University-wide reports.
• Create reporting solutions that integrate with cloud-based platforms.
• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated dashboard reports and visualizations for data warehouses and Clarity.
• Analyze complex data from senior management and end users to develop effective reporting systems.
• Collaborate with programmers and analysts to achieve optimal solutions.
• Mentor team members and lead change management and reporting training initiatives.
• Deliver seminars, courses, and computer-services instruction as required.
• A Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience in developing reports and dashboards using one or more Business Intelligence tools is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• A customer-focused problem-solving approach is required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is necessary.
• Capability to contribute as both an individual contributor and a technical lead across various business environments is required.
• Proficiency in interfacing with user communities to translate business needs into solution requirements is necessary.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, IBM Cognos, or Tableau is required.
• Experience in higher education, medical, or healthcare industries is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies is preferred.
• Five years of reporting experience in Student, HCM, and Finance is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle in a Unix DBMS environment is preferred.
• Experience with EPIC reporting is preferred.
• Proficiency in IBM Cognos and Tableau is preferred.
• Ability to rapidly learn new technologies is preferred.
• Knowledge of expressions and business logic within an object-oriented environment is preferred.
• Extensive SQL programming experience is preferred.
• Availability for on-call support as needed is preferred.
• Certification as a Tableau Specialist is preferred upon hire.
• A certificate in Workday Report Writer curriculum is preferred upon hire.
• Knowledge of Epic Clinical Data Model and/or Epic Revenue Data Model may be required within 12 months of hiring.
• Compensation range of $77,600.00–$116,400.00 per year.
