Senior Business Data Analyst

📋 Description

• Develop and improve Power BI dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate business performance in a clear and actionable manner.

• Collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to convert requests into analytical solutions that are linked to measurable business results.

• Establish reliable calculations, metrics, and KPI frameworks that facilitate improved business decision-making.

• Simplify data accessibility within the organization by utilizing tools such as Power BI, Excel, and AI-powered insights experiences.

• Investigate innovative methods, emerging technologies, and advanced analytics capabilities that enhance team interactions with data.

• Examine centralized datasets to uncover trends, patterns, opportunities, and areas requiring more comprehensive business analysis.

• Assist in advancing reporting beyond just descriptive analytics by contributing to the development of more proactive and action-oriented insights.

• Collaborate closely with the data engineering team and business stakeholders to ensure that analytics solutions are in line with trusted source data and address real operational requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a business data analyst, business analyst, or a similar analytics-oriented role.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI, which is a fundamental requirement for this position.

• Proficient in SQL, Excel, and business data visualization to facilitate reporting and analysis.

• Experience with enterprise data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server) and a strong understanding of data warehouse principles, including source systems, transformations, fact/dimension structures, and data lineage.

• Proven ability to collaborate with business leaders or managers to gather requirements and translate them into actionable, data-driven solutions.

• Strong business analytics perspective, with the capability to link reporting requests to KPIs, outcomes, and decision-making needs.

• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and operate effectively with minimal oversight.

• Capacity to clearly articulate previous analytics projects, encompassing data sources, modeling decisions, KPIs, and business impact.

• Comfortable presenting dashboards and analytical strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences and capable of justifying design choices.

• Solid understanding of data engineering, with the ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering teams and comprehend the technical complexities of enterprise datasets.

• A keen interest in and willingness to engage with AI-driven analytics is essential for success in this role, as the team is actively investing in AI-powered insights, automation, and modern analytics processes.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted analytics tools (such as Power BI Copilot, Azure AI, generative AI for analysis, or similar) is highly desirable.
