This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist the Business Banking team by creating intricate credit submissions, performing thorough financial analyses, designing lending solutions, and aiding in the continuous management of an advanced commercial lending portfolio.
• Spearhead the creation of credit applications for intricate commercial lending relationships, which include real estate, construction and development financing, syndications, and various specialized credit frameworks.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, cash flow modeling, feasibility studies, covenant assessments, stress testing, and sensitivity evaluations to bolster credit recommendations.
• Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers and internal stakeholders to craft lending solutions that are in harmony with policy, risk appetite, and member requirements.
• Assess borrower strength, guarantor support, project feasibility, market trends, and security positions for complex lending transactions.
• Facilitate syndication opportunities by analyzing participation frameworks, lender prerequisites, and deal terms.
• Oversee annual reviews, renewals, amendments, construction monitoring, and ongoing portfolio management activities.
• Track portfolio performance, covenant compliance, delinquency patterns, and emerging risk indicators.
• Coordinate documentation, funding prerequisites, and conditions precedent with internal teams, syndication partners, legal advisors, and other external entities.
• Assist with construction draws, project oversight, and reporting obligations for real estate development and construction lending relationships.
• Generate portfolio reports and recommendations to enhance effective risk management and decision-making processes.
• Guide Business Credit Analysts through technical assistance, knowledge sharing, and the development of best practices.
• Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a relevant field, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting, or business banking, including exposure to complex commercial real estate lending and construction financing.
• Extensive expertise in financial analysis, credit adjudication, risk evaluation, and structuring intricate commercial lending solutions.
• Demonstrated understanding of commercial real estate development financing, syndication frameworks, legal documentation requirements, and portfolio risk management practices.
• Proven capability to analyze complex borrowing relationships and formulate sound credit recommendations.
• Advanced skills in financial analysis and underwriting.
• Experience in supporting commercial real estate development and construction financing relationships.
• Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with syndicated lending structures and complex commercial credit arrangements.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various internal and external stakeholders.
