Senior Business Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the breakdown of intricate, cross-functional business processes (supply chain, logistics, procurement, distribution) to identify structural inefficiencies, misallocations, mode-mix challenges, and escalation triggers.

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with senior client stakeholders independently. Develop trusted advisor relationships and engage in challenging conversations with confidence.

• Translate business insights into precise, actionable requirements for Solutions Architects and Data Engineers, ensuring that operational constraints and business logic are accurately represented in technical designs.

• Take ownership and autonomously manage one or more delivery lanes from start to finish: planning, client communication, deliverable production, risk escalation, and progress reporting, without needing daily guidance.

• Work alongside Solutions Architects to define both current and target-state process and system architectures, utilizing structured analytical frameworks (Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving) to confirm transformation opportunities.

• Create enterprise-level analytical outputs (process maps, value stream analyses, opportunity assessments, business cases, use case definitions) that influence client decision-making and investment.

• Mentor and assist junior Business Analysts and consultants, aiding them in developing the skills necessary to run sessions independently, produce deliverables, and manage client engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of management consulting experience at a Big Four, tier-two, or leading boutique firm, with a proven record of leading operations strategy, business transformation, or value chain reinvention projects. Ideally at the Senior Manager or Director level.

• Independent Client Leadership: Proven ability to autonomously manage executive-level client relationships, facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders, and steer discussions that advance programs without senior oversight.

• Lean Six Sigma & Process Expertise: Robust foundation in structured problem-solving methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, value stream mapping). Black Belt certification or equivalent practical experience is highly desired.

• Cross-Industry Versatility: Senior-level experience across diverse industries and geographies. Background in supply chain, logistics, energy, or healthcare is a significant advantage, but we appreciate the capability to quickly adapt in new domains and share best practices across sectors.

• Value Chain Thinking: Experience in mapping and transforming comprehensive value chains, not just isolated processes. You understand how operational decisions impact procurement, logistics, distribution, and financial outcomes.

• Technical Fluency: While coding skills are not required, you must engage effectively with Solutions Architects and Data Engineers on topics such as data schemas, system integrations, ERP landscapes, and AI/ML model requirements.

• AI-Native Workflow: Comfort in leveraging AI tools (LLM assistants, agentic workflows) to enhance research, analysis, and deliverable creation. You view AI as a significant asset in consulting, not merely a trend.

• Agile Execution: Ability to excel in fast-paced, hypothesis-driven sprint cycles (12-week engagement models) where the emphasis is on validation experiments and rapid insights rather than traditional, slower IT delivery.
