Senior Architectural Designer, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud data centers and colocation projects, from initial concept through construction administration and project closeout.

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, construction personnel, and external stakeholders to create fully integrated and coordinated design solutions.

• Generate and evaluate drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client design requirements.

• Coordinate efforts with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities to facilitate project delivery and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Act as the architectural subject matter expert for hyperscale and colocation clients, guaranteeing operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability in facility design.

• Mentor and support junior architects and designers, promoting technical excellence and design innovation.

• Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in data center design.

• Assist in business development, proposal writing, and conceptual architectural designs for new opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.

• Familiarity with building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design specifications.

• Proficient in BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and other related design tools.

• Over 3 years of experience adhering to hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models.

• Valid U.S. Architectural license.

• LEED accreditation or comparable sustainable design credentials.

• Experience in dynamic, global project environments.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management abilities.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
