This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Gather, document, and uphold business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories across SCR, UBID, and RBM.
• Convert regulatory, contractual, and customer-driven requirements into precise, testable specifications that engineering and QA can utilize.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements, engineering outputs, and QA acceptance criteria.
• Maintain the quality standard for requirements artifacts, ensuring that any ambiguity is addressed before work commences in a sprint.
• Compose comprehensive, well-organized user stories directly in Jira, including detailed descriptions, acceptance criteria, business context, and references to supporting documentation.
• Confirm that every story entering a sprint satisfies a defined "ready" standard, providing sufficient detail for engineering to estimate and implement without requiring follow-up inquiries.
• Lead and engage in backlog refinement sessions, guiding engineers through story specifics, business intent, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Act as the on-call requirements owner throughout the development lifecycle, addressing questions from engineers in real time as they navigate implementation.
• Modify stories, add clarifications, or subdivide work mid-sprint when new information emerges, while safeguarding scope and timelines.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to swiftly address requirements ambiguity and minimize blockers arising from unclear specifications.
• Map current-state and future-state business processes across the three platforms, including customer onboarding, verification, billing, provisioning, and reporting workflows.
• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities, recommending solutions that balance business, engineering, and operational realities.
• Maintain a centralized source of truth for platform workflows, state models, and business rules in Confluence or a similar system.
• Serve as the connection across SCR, UBID, and RBM, pinpointing shared concepts, data models, and workflows that require consistent treatment.
• Highlight cross-product impacts of proposed changes, ensuring decisions made in one product are understood in relation to others.
• Support entity resolution, identity, and data consistency initiatives across multiple platforms.
• Partner with Product Management on roadmap definition, discovery efforts, and prioritization, providing analytical rigor and documentation support.
• Act as a key liaison with Customer Success and Operations to capture real-world customer needs, special cases, and recurring support themes.
• Assist with executive-level and partner-facing communications (including CTIA) by providing clear written materials, process diagrams, and analytical summaries.
• Engage in customer-facing discussions as needed to clarify requirements or validate proposed solutions directly with enterprise customers.
• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and our external development partner to ensure requirements are comprehended, scoped correctly, and delivered as intended.
• Work with QA on acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and edge cases to ensure a shared understanding of what constitutes "done."
• Participate in sprint ceremonies (backlog refinement, planning, demos) to keep requirements updated and address questions in real time.
• Define reporting and analytics requirements related to SLAs, operational KPIs, and customer-facing dashboards (including SLA performance reporting for CTIA).
• Conduct ad hoc analysis of platform data to assist with decisions, investigations, and strategic planning.
• Support the team in transforming raw platform data into actionable narratives for leadership.
• Over 7 years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years as a senior or lead BA working on complex SaaS or platform products.
• Proficient in authoring Jira user stories and requirements artifacts (BRDs, functional specifications, acceptance criteria) for engineering use.
• Experience leading backlog refinement sessions and collaborating with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to address requirements inquiries and facilitate implementation.
• Strong skills in process mapping and documentation, with proficiency in tools such as Confluence, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar alternatives.
• Experience working with external development vendors and effectively translating requirements across organizational boundaries.
• Hands-on ability in data analysis, including familiarity with SQL or similar tools for self-service data exploration.
• Experience in B2B or SaaS environments with contractual SLAs and enterprise customers.
• Proven written and visual communication skills: executive summaries, process diagrams, and stakeholder presentations.
