Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements within Cisive’s background screening processes.

• Convert intricate business demands into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflow diagrams.

• Perform gap analyses, workflow evaluations, and process mapping across various screening product domains including criminal, verifications, civil, medical, MVR, and drug screening.

• Sustain a well-organized, prioritized product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner.

• Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to establish alignment on scope and objectives.

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the development team to ensure mutual understanding.

• Define and monitor KPIs and success metrics for implemented features and solutions.

• Generate high-quality documentation such as BRDs, process diagrams, data flows, and user journey maps.

• Facilitate all scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Protect the team from external distractions and uphold sprint commitments.

• Monitor and communicate sprint velocity, burndown metrics, and team capacity.

• Mentor team members on agile principles and practices for continuous improvement.

• Identify and proactively eliminate blockers, escalating issues when required.

• Cultivate a psychologically safe, high-trust team environment grounded in agile values.

• Report on sprint health and delivery progress to leadership and key stakeholders.

• Continuously enhance team processes through action items from retrospectives and experimentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a business analyst.

• More than 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or agile lead.

• Strong expertise in using Jira and agile tools.

• Proven experience in writing user stories and BRDs.

• Outstanding facilitation and communication abilities.

• Capability to manage competing priorities across dual roles.

• CSM, CSPO, or equivalent Agile certification is preferred.

• CBAP or PMI-PBA certification is preferred.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive sectors (FCRA, background screening, or HR-tech) is preferred.

• Familiarity with process documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence) is preferred.

• Background in SaaS or product-driven organizations is preferred.
