Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the exploration of initiatives related to payments, transaction lifecycles, ledger entries, and financial reporting.

• Convert business requirements into precise, verifiable specifications, user stories, and process/data flows.

• Ensure that all requirements are thorough and in alignment prior to the commencement of development, thereby reducing rework.

• Document workflows and data mappings across transaction and financial systems.

• Maintain responsibility for the quality and completeness of requirements from discovery to delivery.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner, Engineering Tech Lead, Finance, and Operations to synchronize on scope, priorities, and outcomes.

• Manage backlog refinement and prioritization based on business value, financial impact, and associated risks.

• Proactively identify dependencies and risks early on, particularly those that could impact reconciliation, reporting, or ledger accuracy.

• Actively engage in testing and validation to verify that implementations meet business requirements and financial goals.

• Demonstrate expertise in an agile scrum environment.

• Analyze and resolve issues related to payment processing, transaction flows, and reporting pipelines through root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with Finance and Stakeholders to ensure the integrity of ledger behavior, reconciliation processes, and reporting outputs.

• Identify and implement enhancements in accuracy, traceability, and efficiency within financial workflows.

• Address issues affecting transactions, payments, or reporting accuracy.

• Recognize recurring defects and systemic gaps.

• Escalate significant issues that impact customers or financial data.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technology-driven setting.

• Practical experience with transactional systems (e.g., authorization, settlement, reconciliation, gateways, or ledger platforms).

• Strong knowledge of transaction lifecycles, including authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and ledger posting.

• Experience in financial reporting, auditability, and data integrity requirements.

• Proven capability to lead discovery processes and foster alignment across cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical abilities, including root cause analysis and investigation of production issues.

• Experience in translating intricate workflows into clear requirements and data/process models.

• Familiarity with agile environments and agile tools (Scrum, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, process modeling tools).

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence in a remote, distributed team setting.

• Capacity to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of outcomes from start to finish.

• Experience with government systems, regulated environments, or high-audit financial systems is advantageous.
