This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Lead and oversee bridge inspection initiatives
• Supervise the planning, execution, and quality control of bridge inspection programs in adherence to NBIS
• Provide expert guidance for the inspection and assessment of both fixed and movable bridges
• Manage Asset Maintenance Contracts, including administration, monitoring, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance
• Act as the primary client liaison while nurturing relationships with agency personnel and stakeholders
• Evaluate engineering analyses, inspection reports, maintenance suggestions, and rehabilitation plans
• Formulate maintenance strategies and asset management plans
• Mentor and supervise engineering and inspection personnel
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and consultants
• Ensure adherence to FDOT requirements, NBIS regulations, OSHA standards, and engineering codes
• Assist in business development through proposals, presentations, and client interactions
• Provide engineering insights for emergency responses, structural evaluations, and maintenance planning
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
• Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in good standing
• At least 14 years of progressively responsible experience in bridge maintenance operations
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)
• Experience in managing Asset Maintenance Contracts for transportation infrastructure
• Significant experience in performing and supervising movable bridge inspections
• Proven experience as the primary contact with public agency clients
• Knowledgeable in bridge maintenance, structural evaluation, rehabilitation planning, and inspection procedures
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and overseeing complex projects
• Expertise in bridge maintenance engineering principles and practices
• Thorough understanding of NBIS requirements and bridge inspection techniques
• Strong project management and organizational abilities
• Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
• Proficient in preparing and reviewing complex engineering reports and technical documents
• Experience in negotiating project scope, timelines, and budgets with clients
• Ability to mentor engineering staff
• Dedication to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Preferred: experience with FDOT
• Preferred: familiarity with bridge asset management systems and maintenance management software
• Preferred: qualifications as an NBIS Team Leader
• Preferred: experience in emergency bridge inspections and incident response
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
