Senior Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive bookkeeping processes for various client accounts

• Ensure precise financial records and bookkeeping systems are maintained

• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and loans

• Manage processes related to accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Prepare and assess reconciliations for balance sheets and profit & loss reports

• Reconcile undeposited funds and adjust sales reports from net deposits

• Collaborate with various POS systems and financial data sources

• Assist with payroll journal reconciliations and payroll-related bookkeeping tasks

• Communicate professionally with clients regarding bookkeeping issues

• Maintain bookkeeping accuracy in accordance with US accounting standards

• Aid in month-end and year-end bookkeeping activities

• Leverage AI and automation tools effectively to enhance efficiency while ensuring accuracy

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified in QuickBooks Online

• At least 5 years of full-time bookkeeping experience

• Solid experience in US bookkeeping and data capture

• Background in servicing various industries

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online with recent practical experience

• Comprehensive understanding of balance sheet reconciliations

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets, liabilities, and loan reconciliations

• Experience in payroll journals and payroll reconciliation processes

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Strong grasp of financial reporting and best practices in bookkeeping

• Capability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional home office setup

• Minimum dual-screen setup with a dedicated workspace

• Willingness to work US Pacific hours on a permanent basis

• Highly advantageous skills include:

• Exposure to California sales tax

• Experience in construction, real estate, restaurants, retail, wholesale, or entertainment sectors

• Familiarity with US corporate tax environments

• Experience with multiple POS systems

• Strong skills in AI literacy and workflow optimization
