This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee the management of the biospecimen lifecycle, from sample receipt through to analysis and final disposition.
• Ensure the accuracy of specimen metadata.
• Provide updates on study specimens to client groups and stakeholders.
• Enhance the efficiency of specimen management by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Offer site support and facilitate the resolution of queries.
• Participate in or lead special projects as designated.
• Comply with client policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Review clinical study protocols and the scope of work documents from service providers, focusing on sample handling and processing details.
• Establish and maintain a sophisticated study sample tracker, with experience in manual sample tracking for intricate clinical studies.
• Develop and oversee project plans.
• Manage data transfer plans with analytical laboratories.
• Handle data received from both external and internal laboratories, including data generated from exploratory studies.
• Address and resolve discrepancies in specimen metadata.
• Submit specimens for analytical assays in accordance with study timelines.
• Monitor the status of collected specimens and the completeness of data.
• Contribute to achieving database locks by ensuring all specimens have final results and that data transfers are complete; generate reports for data management as required.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and serve as a technical resource within the department.
• Lead projections for annual and long-term planning in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Supervise and manage junior personnel.
• A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, medical technology, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in life sciences or medically related areas, encompassing clinical development, biospecimen lifecycle management, or clinical laboratory analysis.
• Project Management experience is preferred.
