Senior BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain gold-layer data models along with a governed metrics layer in Snowflake utilizing dbt — ensuring they are clean, tested, documented, and version-controlled.

• Define metrics as the single source of truth: calculated once, reused universally, with clear ownership and effective change management.

• Advance transformation and calculation logic upstream into the warehouse, maintaining a straightforward, consistent, and trustworthy consumption layer — thereby eliminating per-dashboard logic and manual rework.

• Collaborate with data engineering at the intersection of raw/silver pipelines (theirs) and the gold/metrics layer (yours).

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics experiences within our enterprise BI platform that leverage governed metrics rather than recreating logic.

• Convert business inquiries into both the relevant metric and the visualization that effectively conveys it.

• Advocate for data quality, consistency, and trust across all delivered analytics, ensuring that figures withstand scrutiny.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in creating business intelligence solutions — data models, metrics, dashboards, and reporting — within a data-driven environment.

• Solid foundation in data analytics as a field: data modeling, metric definition, and the analytical inquiries underpinning the dashboards.

• Demonstrated experience in developing data models and transformations within a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake).

• Proven expertise across various BI tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense), with the discernment to evaluate trade-offs and identify quality design.

• Strong proficiency in SQL.

• Competence in the AI era: adept at working with coding agents, establishing development environments, and employing AI tools as a fundamental productivity enhancer.

• Excellent communication skills and the capability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

• Background in pharmacy benefits management, healthcare technology, or a related regulated industry.
