Senior BI Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Engage comprehensively throughout the Analytics process: grasp business requirements, assess data sources, establish metrics, model and manipulate data, develop dashboards/reports, validate, document, and deliver to user teams.

• Collaborate directly with stakeholders, business units, and leadership to identify needs, convert requirements into KPIs, and facilitate data-informed decisions.

• Create, validate, and sustain interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical panels using Power BI or similar tools.

• Construct and uphold transformation models in the analytics layer utilizing dbt and advanced SQL, guaranteeing data lineage, automated testing, and code reusability.

• Establish business rules, calculations, and aggregate measures with DAX, SQL, and dbt, ensuring consistency and optimal performance.

• Maintain data quality, integrity, and accuracy through reconciliation processes and anomaly investigation.

• Analyze root causes of operational issues and inconsistencies across dashboards, data pipelines, environments, and granularities.

• Design Semantic Layers and Data Marts for analytical use and Self-Service BI.

• Foster a data-driven culture by educating, documenting, and training business users on BI tools and the metrics catalog.

• Ensure governance, visual consistency, access management (RLS/roles), naming conventions, and documentation are upheld.

• Deliver independently with technical proficiency, propose analytical solutions, and mentor less experienced team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in developing and maintaining models using dbt.

• Organize dependencies through ref() and source() functions.

• Expertise in models, sources, seeds, snapshots, macros, tests, documentation, and lineage.

• Familiarity with materialization strategies: view, table, incremental, and ephemeral.

• Implement data quality tests using dbt.

• Adhere to best practices for project structure, naming conventions, code reusability, and processing optimization in dbt projects.

• Extensive experience in creating interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or comparable tools.

• Proficient in BI modeling, including table relationships, filter contexts, aggregate functions, and complex measures, particularly advanced DAX.

• Strong understanding of Data Visualization, dashboard UX/UI, and Data Storytelling.

• Hands-on experience with advanced SQL, including CTEs, window functions, aggregations, joins, subqueries, and analytical datasets.

• Ability to analyze and enhance query performance.

• Skill in examining discrepancies, duplicates, null values, and inconsistencies in databases.

• Significant experience in dimensional modeling, including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, facts, and dimensions.

• Define granularity, relationship keys, and aggregation rules effectively.

• Knowledge of Data Warehouse/Lakehouse layers: Staging, Trusted, Mart/Consumption.

• Familiarity with Semantic Layer for metric standardization.

• Capacity to comprehend business challenges prior to development.

• Ability to translate business needs into data structures and rules.

• Strong investigative skills to identify root causes of discrepancies.

• Experience in mapping, standardizing, and documenting data dictionaries and metric catalogs.

• Familiarity with data hosted on GCP (BigQuery) and/or Snowflake.

• Understanding of tables, views, partitions, and cost/performance optimization.

• Practical experience with Git, including branches, commits, Pull Requests, and code review processes.

• Knowledge of organization, governance, information security, access control/RLS, and documentation practices.

• Autonomy, strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and a collaborative attitude.

• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Python, Pandas, NumPy, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataplex, advanced Snowflake, multicloud architectures, CI/CD, data catalog and governance, Data Mesh, Data Contracts, unified Semantic Layer, and integration of dashboards with AI agents or predictive solutions.

• Experience in large enterprise settings with multiple BI consumers and Self-Service BI.
