This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Lead, develop, and oversee a team of three analysts, including workload distribution, quality assessment, and professional growth.
• Establish the benchmarks for data models, definitions, and documentation that the entire organization relies upon.
• Act as the main data collaborator for stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Product.
• Maintain daily automated reports covering leads, listings, LPL, promoted listings, sold listings, and market monitoring.
• Fulfill weekly ad-hoc data requests for P24 and AutoTrader.
• Generate monthly and quarterly commercial analyses, industry reports, and press-ready data articles.
• Monitor commercial KPIs such as take rate, ROS/MDS, LPL per dealer, slot utilization, and dealer profitability.
• Create and uphold dashboards in Tableau and Apache Superset, along with templates in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Proactively identify opportunities for data enhancement and present insights to the organization.
• Write and sustain complex SQL queries and automated pipelines across P24 and AT databases.
• Process, cleanse, and ensure the integrity of data utilized for analysis and modeling.
• Develop recurring data workflows, including revenue books, billing, finance reporting, and sold data.
• Employ predictive and statistical techniques on existing datasets, such as churn modeling, demand forecasting, pricing elasticity, and anomaly detection.
• Investigate ML-assisted valuation and depreciation modeling for AutoTrader.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize models as components of automated pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience in BI, data analytics, or data science, with 1–2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience in creating automated reporting pipelines.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following: Python, Tableau, Apache Superset, or Excel.
• Strong comprehension of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including clustering, neural networks, and boosting.
• Expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, and mathematics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume, multi-stakeholder request backlog independently.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex data and models into a clear business narrative.
