This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Create comprehensive, clear, and detailed user stories and business requirements for various business and technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with SQL-proficient stakeholders to interpret, validate, and refine data and reporting requirements for accuracy and usability.
• Conduct research and analyze data from multiple business systems; align requirements with available data sources and work together with BI developers to integrate data into Databricks and enterprise analytics platforms.
• Engage cross-functionally with stakeholders, data services, and BI development teams to understand business implications and assist in solution delivery.
• Examine data to uncover essential business questions, trends, dependencies, and actionable insights.
• Assess and manage cross-functional and cross-system dependencies related to reporting and analytics projects.
• Develop and maintain functional specifications, grooming documentation, and detailed technical requirements to facilitate development and implementation efforts.
• Partner with functional architects and development teams to provide high-quality BI and data solutions.
• Counsel business users on alternative strategies or recommended solutions to meet operational and reporting needs.
• Execute system configuration and administrative support tasks within SAP BusinessObjects and Tableau environments.
• Diagnose and identify root causes of data quality issues and system defects across both development and production environments.
• Utilize business and technical knowledge to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business users on reporting capabilities, analytics solutions, and data best practices.
• Maintain a high level of familiarity with upstream IT systems and business applications that supply data to the BI platform.
• Organize and carry out system testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that issues are tracked until resolution and business sign-off is obtained.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Practical experience with SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, Databricks, or similar data analytics platforms.
• Strong technical skills in developing and executing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with Python scripting and automation is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling/analysis.
• 2–3 years of experience in Agile development methodologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Asana, Jira, and Confluence.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to convert findings into actionable business recommendations and well-defined product requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical, non-technical, and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret vague business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable specifications.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proven capability to tackle complex problems and think critically in fast-paced environments.
• Adaptable and responsive to shifting priorities and changing business needs.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable experimenting with new approaches and refining solutions based on data-driven insights and outcomes.
