Senior Basis Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and size comprehensive SAP landscapes, incorporating high-availability configurations and disaster recovery plans.

• Lead greenfield implementations, including SAP RISE deployments, ensuring scalable architecture that aligns with enterprise needs.

• Plan and execute significant upgrade projects (e.g., S/4HANA version-to-version upgrades) while minimizing business disruption.

• Possess experience in the installation of S/4HANA, HANA, and NetWeaver-based systems, applying support packs, kernel patches, plug-ins, and SAP Notes.

• Manage intricate SAP landscapes within cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

• Build and configure the SAP BTP landscape, which includes Integration Suite/CPI, SAC, Datasphere/DWC, IAS/IPS, Business Application Studio, and Cloud Connectors.

• Configure SSO/MFA integrations across BTP subaccounts with identity providers like IAS and Okta.

• Architect and configure high-availability clusters using SUSE HAWK and Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager, including database mirroring and Always-On setups.

• Administer and optimize HANA, MSSQL, and Oracle databases, including patching, upgrades, refreshes, and vulnerability remediation.

• Remediate high and critical security vulnerabilities (CVE/CVSS), collaborating with cyber security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure audit readiness.

• Configure and maintain Cloud ALM, encompassing technical monitoring, Early Watch reporting, and automated administrative oversight.

• Manage system refreshes, client copies, and transport management across the landscape.

• Provide ongoing Basis administration support, performance monitoring and tuning, problem analysis, and resolution to maximize system uptime.

• Oversee maintenance windows and production changes, including break-fixes, support package updates, kernel updates, parameter changes, and certificate renewals.

• Collaborate with development, functional, security, audit, and infrastructure teams, as well as vendors, to ensure projects are delivered on time with managed risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience, with a proven track record in an architect or lead role.

• Demonstrated experience with full life-cycle SAP implementations and large-scale migrations.

• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver (ABAP/Java), and Solution Manager.

• Practical experience with SAP BTP services (Integration Suite/CPI, SAC, Datasphere/DWC, IAS/IPS, Cloud Connector).

• Strong database administration capabilities across HANA, MSSQL, and Oracle.

• Experience in designing and operating high-availability clusters (SUSE HAWK, Microsoft Failover Cluster Manager).

• Hands-on experience with SWPM and SUM for installations, system copies, upgrades, and migrations.

• Experience in migrating SAP workloads to AWS and/or Azure.

• Working knowledge of SAP security and vulnerability remediation (CVE/CVSS), SSO/MFA, and audit/compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in SUSE Linux, Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, and AIX operating systems.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
