Senior Backend Software Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the enterprise platform from start to finish — accountable for both sustaining engineering (reliability, scalability, technical debt) and the development of new features.

• Independently define and execute medium-to-large projects — deconstruct ambiguous challenges into manageable workstreams, prioritize the tasks, and drive them to successful completion.

• Collaborate closely with Product and key stakeholders — convert business needs into technical strategies, identify trade-offs early on, and keep cross-functional partners updated throughout the delivery process.

• Assist in maintaining reliability and managing incident responses — provide on-call and incident support during U.S. working hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive senior-level software engineering experience, with a proven history of managing systems or products from inception to completion in a production setting.

• Proven capability to independently scope and deliver medium-to-large projects, transforming ambiguous problems into actionable solutions.

• Strong full-stack proficiency in TypeScript, with experience in balancing sustaining engineering (reliability, scalability, technical debt) and the development of new features.

• Background in building and maintaining B2B / enterprise-facing software.

• Ability to work directly with Product and non-technical stakeholders to translate their requirements into actionable technical plans.

• Experience with on-call rotations and handling incident responses.
