This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, architect, and implement scalable, fault-tolerant, and resilient distributed microservices for cybersecurity range simulations.
• Establish technical standards across systems and take ownership of the long-term technical vision and architecture for essential platform capabilities.
• Create platform capabilities by integrating AI-enabled services and autonomous workflows to facilitate intelligent emulation behaviors, context exchange, reliability, security, and operational control.
• Assess and adopt interoperability patterns and protocols, such as MCP and A2A, as the platform advances.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineering Leadership to set roadmap priorities and define technical milestones.
• Lead intricate, multi-quarter, end-to-end engineering projects.
• Enhance system reliability, performance optimization, fault tolerance, code quality, testing, API design, and best practices in system architecture.
• Guide and mentor engineers through design reviews, code assessments, feedback sessions, and the delegation of high-impact projects.
• Develop and implement observability, telemetry, proactive alerting, high availability, incident resolution, and zero-downtime deployment frameworks.
• Integrate security, compliance, and offensive/defensive mitigation strategies into system design and the software development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain architectural decision records, technical specifications, and system design patterns.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience in architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed microservices in production environments.
• An associate degree in science and technology or equivalent professional experience.
• Profound proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Advanced experience in API design, system integration, and event-driven architecture.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Spring Boot.
• Experience in incorporating AI/LLM capabilities into production software systems.
• Strong judgment regarding service boundaries, context management, reliability, security, and observability.
• Proven experience in leading complex, multi-system projects from conception to delivery.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, offensive/defensive strategies, user emulation, or threat landscapes.
• Experience in detecting system bottlenecks, enhancing fault tolerance, and resolving intricate distributed system failures.
• Programming experience in Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go.
• Familiarity with MCP, A2A, agentic workflows, orchestration systems, and reinforcement learning is a plus or considered an additional qualification.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hiring.
