Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design and technical roadmap for scalable, high-performance data processing pipelines that can manage petabyte-scale telemetry data (logs, metrics, traces).

• Spearhead the development and enhancement of ML-driven data routing and transformation engines to diminish customer data volumes by over 80%, while architecting real-time analytics systems utilizing advanced machine learning and LLMs.

• Create cloud-native microservices and APIs that integrate smoothly with major observability platforms (Splunk, Elastic, Datadog), while establishing robust monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.

• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives and decision-making forums, collaborating with Product, Data Science, and DevOps teams to turn strategic vision into technical solutions and company-wide standards.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to both senior and junior engineers, enhancing system performance and reliability while establishing engineering best practices and culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems, data engineering, or ML infrastructure, demonstrating expert-level proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and a proven history of leading and scaling data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, or Flink.

• In-depth knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and advanced experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and MLOps practices for production ML systems.

• Expert understanding of observability tools and standards, including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, OpenTelemetry, and Parquet, along with extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

• Strong leadership and technical communication capabilities, with a proven record of mentoring engineers, planning technical strategy, and influencing decisions across multiple teams and stakeholders.
