Senior Backend Engineer – Twitter/X Style Infrastructure, Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable infrastructure for social feeds.

• Architect systems for timelines and following.

• Create infrastructure for real-time fan interactions.

• Establish systems for notifications and engagement.

• Assist in architecting distributed, event-driven systems.

• Develop scalable APIs to facilitate social interactions.

• Work on communication and moderation infrastructure.

• Optimize systems for global scalability and minimal latency.

• Collaborate with engineers in frontend, mobile, AI, and platform domains.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven backend engineering expertise in Rust.

• Experience in designing scalable distributed systems.

• Proficient in building high-scale APIs.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures.

• Background in developing real-time systems.

• Strong knowledge of concurrency and low-latency infrastructure.

• Experience in designing scalable communication systems.

• Background working with platforms that engage a high volume of users.

• In-depth understanding of backend performance optimization.

• Preference for experience in one or more of the following areas: social feed infrastructure, timeline systems, follow/follower systems, notification systems, social graph infrastructure, messaging systems, real-time communication platforms, distributed event systems, trending or recommendation systems, moderation infrastructure, large-scale consumer platforms, or high-concurrency backend systems.
