Senior Backend Engineer – Ruby on Rails

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Engage in the complete product life cycle.

• AI-Driven Execution: Develop clean, functional code while effectively utilizing AI-assisted development tools to enhance prototyping, debugging, and boilerplate generation.

• Lead the internal development of a new product.

• Offer training and support to internal teams.

• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and the product team to set priorities and manage our technical roadmap.

• Assist in mentoring junior developers.

• Introduce new development concepts to benefit the business and enhance your own skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive software development experience, including over 7 years of strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and SQL databases.

• AI Power user: Proven capability to utilize AI tools to enhance coding speed, improve test coverage, and efficiently tackle complex refactoring tasks.

• Significant experience in building highly scalable systems.

• Ability to uphold high standards for security and data privacy practices within the team.

• Proficient with Git and Git flow; familiar with contemporary project management tools.

• Commitment to writing clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

• Experience working in product teams at startups.
