Senior Backend Engineer, Ordering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the development of Afresh's flagship AI ordering product, which generates significant revenue.

• Establish the architectural roadmap for next-generation systems.

• Design, construct, and deploy highly scalable and resilient APIs.

• Make pivotal architectural decisions that will shape the platform.

• Collaborate with Product, Account Management, and fellow engineering teams to deliver cohesive client solutions.

• Contribute to the vision of the next-generation Ordering product.

• Provide support for the existing iPad solution.

• Implement testing and release best practices to ensure system reliability.

• Lead projects through the complete development lifecycle, from conception to launch.

• Mentor junior engineers and foster team growth.

• Engage in team ceremonies, engineering swarms, and conduct code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of software development experience.

• Strong eagerness to learn and master new technologies.

• Ability to lead and navigate projects through the entire development lifecycle, from conception to launch, with a significant level of autonomy.

• Willingness to mentor junior engineers.

• Curiosity regarding complex systems and the intricate business domain.

• Active participation in team activities, including ceremonies, engineering swarms, and timely, constructive code reviews.

• Experience with the Agile software delivery cycle (preferred).

• Familiarity with modern AI-powered development tools (preferred).

• Experience with TypeScript and cloud technologies, particularly Azure (preferred).
