Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain scalable applications utilizing NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Docker, and associated technologies.

• Engage actively throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and ongoing support.

• Work closely with developers, designers, QA, and product stakeholders to deliver top-notch product features and enhancements.

• Take part in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and estimation sessions.

• Evaluate technical designs, requirements, and specifications to provide constructive feedback and uphold engineering quality.

• Recognize technical risks, dependencies, and architectural considerations early during the development phase.

• Advocate for engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and code quality.

• Contribute to architectural strategy and assist in making scalable, maintainable system design choices.

• Develop and maintain real-time, event-driven, and data-intensive platform capabilities.

• Participate in an on-call support rotation and assist in incident resolution and maintaining operational stability.

• Collaborate with both business and technical teams to ensure engineering delivery aligns with commercial and customer goals.

• Foster knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement throughout the engineering organization.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with NodeJS and TypeScript in production settings.

• Proficient in MongoDB and NoSQL database design, including:

• Schema modeling.

• Indexing strategies.

• Aggregation pipelines.

• Performance optimization.

• Practical experience with Docker and the development of containerized applications.

• Experience in designing and constructing scalable backend systems and APIs.

• Strong comprehension of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with real-time, data-driven SaaS platforms.

• Solid grasp of software architecture and the capability to influence architectural decisions.

• Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, including:

• CI/CD pipelines.

• Code reviews.

• Automated testing.

• Observability and monitoring.

• Performance optimization.

• Security practices.

• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.

• Experience in Agile software development environments.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.

• Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production systems effectively.

• Experience in integrating AI development tools into engineering workflows with measurable results.
