This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain components and functionalities of Devices Cloud services — including telemetry ingestion, state management, command/control, and data pipelines — prioritizing quality and reliability.
• Take ownership of well-defined features and smaller designs from implementation to production, breaking down tasks while delivering precise estimates with occasional guidance.
• Employ AI-native engineering methodologies in your daily tasks: utilizing AI assistants for coding, testing, refactoring, and debugging, while taking full responsibility for everything you deploy.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, product, and platform teams to implement APIs and integrations across the hardware-software interface.
• Engage in cross-team initiatives, and proactively escalate risks and obstacles early.
• Conduct thorough testing of your own code to identify logical errors before integration, while familiarizing yourself with cross-functional security and scalability requirements.
• Adhere to best practices in code review, provide and receive constructive feedback, and learn from senior engineers.
• Convert technical specifications into high-quality code, and assist in team documentation efforts.
• Clearly communicate progress and promptly raise any blocking issues to your team and manager.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident responses and post-mortem analyses.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in building backend or cloud services.
• Proven experience in developing defined features, troubleshooting bugs, and writing test code with increasing autonomy.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS: EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, etc.) and a strong desire to enhance your skills in distributed systems.
• Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants for real engineering tasks, with the ability to review and take ownership of your deployments.
• Strong coding and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a habit of self-testing to ensure low-defect outcomes.
• Effective communicator who articulates progress, poses insightful questions, and explains their work to colleagues and management.
• Capable of working semi-independently, solving problems independently, and seeking guidance when necessary.
• Experience with high-frequency ingestion systems, time-series data, and streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar).
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
