Senior Backend Engineer – Django

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and continuously enhance backend systems and APIs utilizing Django.

• Assume responsibility for architectural choices regarding scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Create features within the React frontend, encompassing UI, state management, and backend integration.

• Enhance performance and developer experience.

• Design clean interfaces connecting the frontend and backend.

• Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines along with deployment workflows.

• Consistently apply principles of clean code, design patterns, and robust system design.

• Refactor significant portions of the codebase to boost long-term maintainability, utilizing modern tools such as Claude Code.

• Systematically broaden testing and QA efforts, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing as necessary.

• Proactively utilize and enhance AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate iterations, improve quality, and automate repetitive tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend development.

• Some frontend experience in any framework is advantageous.

• Exceptional backend skills, particularly with Django, APIs, and data models.

• Strong comprehension of architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles.

• Practical experience with CI/CD, encompassing build pipelines, tests, deployments, and release processes.

• Robust testing and QA practices.

• Familiarity with contemporary toolchains and workflows, including AI-assisted development.

• Bonus: Experience with Go and/or Rust, or a strong desire to learn them, as we intend to expand certain system components in that direction over time.
