Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Create and implement backend services, APIs, and enterprise integration components that support critical healthcare applications.

• Spearhead technical implementation initiatives that involve service-layer logic, data processing, system integration, and error-handling functionalities.

• Work closely with architects and technical leaders to ensure that solution designs align with roadmap priorities, platform standards, and non-functional requirements.

• Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and advocate for best practices in maintainability, reliability, performance, and security.

• Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and production support tasks across various environments.

• Enhance backend application performance, logging, monitoring, and observability features to boost operational efficiency and reliability.

• Participate in technical design reviews, estimation processes, release planning, and the creation of technical documentation.

• Collaborate with QA and DevSecOps teams to enhance testability, deployment readiness, and operational resilience.

• Spot opportunities for refactoring, developing reusable components, and reducing technical debt.

• Operate within Agile delivery frameworks and support sprint, increment, and release commitments across cross-functional teams.

• Provide assistance with ad hoc tasks and emerging challenges as needed to achieve team objectives and organizational priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be taken into account.

• At least 8 years of experience in backend engineering, enterprise application development, or software engineering settings.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, and service-oriented or microservices architectures.

• Familiarity with SQL, relational database design, and backend data integration methodologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of authentication, authorization, secure application development, and enterprise security best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and production support operations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical implementation projects and mentor junior or less-experienced engineers.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, design, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional technical teams.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.
