Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services utilizing Node.js.

• Create and manage RESTful APIs while integrating backend services with databases and external systems.

• Produce clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code in alignment with industry best practices.

• Implement secure and high-performance backend solutions.

• Develop automated unit and integration tests to guarantee code quality and reliability.

• Engage in code reviews and adhere to continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies.

• Contribute to discussions regarding application architecture and technical design.

• Work with relational databases, optimize queries, and ensure effective data management.

• Diagnose backend issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partake in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.

• Operate within a global enterprise technology team and report to the Team Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–4 years of practical experience in backend development with Node.js.

• Strong expertise in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.

• Knowledge of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and foundational Node.js concepts.

• Practical experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Experience in writing automated unit tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, error handling, and backend application security.

• Capability to write clean, modular, reusable, and testable code.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate successfully within an Agile team.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Exposure to Docker, containerization, and cloud-based application deployment.

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Agile engineering methodologies.

• Knowledge of caching, message queues, application monitoring, and performance optimization.
