Senior Backend Engineer, AdTech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Assume complete ownership of the Vast Gateway service.

• Maintain, enhance, and expand platform capabilities.

• Design and implement scalable back-end solutions suitable for high-load environments.

• Assist with the onboarding process for new clients, which includes integrations, setting up monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.

• Develop custom features and integrations tailored to customer specifications.

• Monitor system performance and proactively seek optimization opportunities.

• Ensure the reliability, availability, and low-latency performance of services.

• Engage in release planning, deployments, and support activities in production.

• Enhance observability through effective monitoring, alerting, and operational tools.

• Collaborate with Product and engineering stakeholders to advance platform architecture.

• Work on Vast Gateway, a high-throughput edge proxy powered by Cloudflare Workers for video advertising delivery.

• Process VAST responses, implement malicious ad protection logic for VPAID creatives, and consolidate VAST documents into a single XML response.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional back-end development experience.

• Extensive knowledge of server-side JavaScript or other back-end technologies.

• Experience in AdTech environments.

• Demonstrated ability to support production systems in high-load settings.

• Strong grasp of debugging, monitoring, hotfixing, and zero-downtime deployment techniques.

• Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, web fundamentals, HTML, and tracking pixels.

• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capability to independently manage services and lead technical enhancements.

• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency or higher.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed teams.

• Familiarity with the VAST protocol is a plus.

• Practical experience with Cloudflare Workers is a plus.

• Knowledge of VPAID creatives is a plus.

• Background in video advertising technologies is a plus.

• Experience in high-load distributed systems is a plus.

• Expertise in performance optimization is a plus.

• Familiarity with edge-computing architectures is a plus.
