Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and enhance our current system landscape while designing a future-ready architecture, step by step, utilizing modern frameworks, tools, cloud strategies, and AI-assisted development tools.

• Create and implement robust backend components and APIs, ensuring clear documentation and a maintainable codebase.

• Transition on-premises solutions to a scalable cloud architecture.

• Leverage generative AI tools for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, test case creation, and documentation.

• Proactively identify technical challenges and devise efficient, innovative solutions.

• Lead technical discussions and architectural decisions within the team, prioritizing customer value and quality.

• Conduct code reviews, implement performance enhancements, and perform root-cause analysis for bugs and stability issues, including developing plans for sustainable improvements.

• Optimize and maintain our MySQL databases to ensure maximum performance and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree or vocational training in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.

• Several years of experience in developing and evolving complex backend systems, preferably in a lead or architect capacity.

• Proficient in PHP 8.x (Symfony 7.x+) and RESTful APIs (OpenAPI).

• Familiarity with .NET 8+ / C# and Entity Framework Core, or a strong eagerness to learn swiftly.

• Experience with unit and integration testing (PHPUnit, PHPStan), CI/CD pipelines, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid database expertise (MySQL, PostgreSQL) emphasizing performance, maintainability, and scalability.

• Background in event-driven architecture and message brokers (RabbitMQ).

• Experience with contemporary AI tools for development, documentation, and quality assurance.

• Strong capability to articulate technical concepts clearly in both German and English.
