Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and improve backend APIs and services using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring effective and organized consumption of consolidated data in OneData.

• Design and create event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub), facilitating resilient integration between systems and advancing the decoupling of legacy components.

• Construct adaptation layers such as adapters, facades, and BFFs to support the gradual migration of consumers without operational disruption.

• Organize and enhance critical endpoints for Domiciliar journeys, including scheduling, eligibility, routing, and profitability, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

• Define and apply patterns for data access and API exposure, encompassing versioning, pagination, advanced filtering, aggregation, and caching strategies.

• Aid in the transition between data models and contract versions, ensuring safe coexistence, compatibility, and gradual architectural evolution.

• Implement strong resilience and performance methodologies such as circuit breakers, retries, timeouts, fallbacks, and rate limiting to guarantee stability in critical environments.

• Identify and address latency bottlenecks, excessive resource consumption, and overload issues in databases and caches.

• Ensure complete observability of APIs through structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and monitoring of errors and latency.

• Document API contracts, events, and technical decisions to promote clarity, governance, and continuity within teams.

• Extensive experience in backend development utilizing Java.

• Expertise in Spring Boot for creating and evolving APIs and microservices.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging/Pub/Sub frameworks.

• Experience in system integration, legacy modernization, and the development of adaptation layers.

• Understanding of REST API design best practices, including versioning, pagination, filters, contracts, and compatibility (backward/forward).

• Proven experience with resilience, scalability, and performance methodologies in distributed environments.

• Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.

• Ability to perform in high-criticality contexts with a technical vision and emphasis on operational stability.

• Strong communication skills for technical documentation and inter-team collaboration.

• Experience with high-usage, continuously operated products.

• Background in multi-brand or white-label environments.

• Familiarity with scalable backend architectures.

• Close collaboration with operations teams to understand direct business impacts.

• Experience integrating with unstable environments or legacy systems.
