Senior Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Profile and assess services developed in Go and PHP, optimizing the application's performance hotspots.

• Analyze and enhance high-volume SQL queries through execution plans, indexing, tuning, and database modeling adjustments.

• Oversee production performance, identifying bottlenecks and potential scalability issues.

• Conduct in-depth investigations of performance problems: develop hypotheses, instrument the system, create proofs of concept, and validate solutions through measurements.

• Suggest architectural modifications when warranted by measurements, incorporating gRPC, WebSocket, caching, and messaging.

• Spearhead the modernization of the legacy system: systematically migrate essential processes from PHP to Go services, ensuring before-and-after measurements without any production downtime.

• Integrate LLMs into the development workflow and assess AI applications for the squad's products and processes.

• Recommend enhancements to guarantee system robustness, scalability, and ongoing product evolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Go and PHP.

• Strong foundation in computer science: data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis, concurrency, networking, and operating systems.

• Experience in optimizing SQL queries (including execution plan analysis, indexing, and tuning) and a solid understanding of data modeling.

• Proven ability to optimize performance hotspots: profiling and benchmarking code while enhancing critical sections.

• Familiarity with gRPC and WebSocket technologies.

• Hands-on experience with AI: leveraging LLMs within the SDLC.

• Background in developing, testing, and maintaining web applications in high-availability settings.

• Knowledge of software architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

• Capability to work with RESTful APIs.

• Exploratory mindset characterized by technical curiosity, independence in investigating issues thoroughly, and a willingness to learn new technologies and engage in complex challenges.

• Enjoyment in collaborative work with transparency and integrity, emphasizing results with excellence and agility.

• Experience with observability and application performance monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing).

• Familiarity with caching strategies and CDNs (e.g., Redis, Cloudflare).

• Experience with messaging and asynchronous processing (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, queues).

• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
