Senior Backend Developer – Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Develop autonomous Inbox-Agents that are activated by new events within tickets.

• Create templates for customers to train their own Inbox-Agents.

• Design the escalation behavior of agents and ensure adherence to established processes.

• Engineer a harness for agents that integrates with over 100 tools.

• Determine the appropriate content for system prompts versus skills.

• Enhance the custom knowledge base and its collective-brain functionalities.

• Optimize AI knowledge-base search capabilities through tools, system prompts, and skills.

• Construct voice agents on LiveKit for handling phone calls.

• Build LLM infrastructure, which includes model selection, caching, streaming, retries, context compaction, RAG optimization, usage tracking, cost management, and evaluations.

• Collaborate across the TypeScript stack, involving Convex, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Vercel AI SDK, and Convex Agent Component.

• Work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks.

• Deliver agentic features that are utilized by actual customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English.

• Over 2 years of experience in developing production agents.

• Proven experience in delivering AI-native agentic features for real users.

• Knowledge and insights regarding retrieval, evaluations, tool design, and the limitations of frontier models.

• Builder-first mentality with a readiness to ship quickly.

• Updated on the latest AI models and research developments.

• Capable of writing nearly all code using AI tools.

• Comfortable working independently and taking complete ownership of tasks.

• Performs effectively under pressure.

• Quick learner with a generalist approach rather than a specialist focus.

• Strong hands-on experience in AI production.

• Experience in TypeScript-based development.

• Familiar with Convex, Next.js, React, Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Vercel AI SDK, Convex Agent Component, and LiveKit.
