Senior Backend, Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop and design the entire backend and data architecture for advanced, multi-tenant AI-powered platforms.

• Concentrate on creating robust database schema designs, multi-tenant frameworks, asynchronous API services, and orchestrating data pipelines.

• Generate OpenAPI specifications as the backend evolves, ensuring flawless integration with frontend and AI elements.

• Design data isolation patterns, construct intricate data processing workflows, implement pipeline stages, and establish the essential data infrastructure that enables secure end-to-end system operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Python (primary backend language).

• Expertise in PostgreSQL and database architecture (RLS, multi-tenancy, schema design).

• Proficient in FastAPI or a comparable asynchronous Python framework.

• Experience with orchestrating data pipelines, ETL processes, and asynchronous processing.

• A total of 5+ years in software engineering, with practical experience in both backend and data engineering.

• Proven experience in developing software systems of medium to large scale and complexity.

• Familiarity with contract-first or API-first development, including OpenAPI, REST API contracts, or similar methodologies.

• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.

• Strong skills in relational databases and SQL.

• Proficient in English.
