Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

📋 Description

• Seeking a Senior Azure DevOps expert who can work remotely.

• This role is centered on Azure Multi-Region, focusing on the implementation and enhancement of continuous delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and production operations to support a new region.

• The position emphasizes automation, governance, security, observability, and business continuity, ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant deployments across various regions.

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for applications and infrastructure in a Multi-Region setting, which includes automated deployments, testing, production validation, and rollback strategies.

• Provision and manage Azure resources using Terraform and ARM/Bicep, ensuring versioning, reusable templates, and effective environment management across regions.

• Oversee environment configuration and deployments utilizing Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, integrating policy validation and compliance checks.

• Set up and manage observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, along with dashboards and alerts, while focusing on operational cost management.

• Implement security controls within pipelines and infrastructure, including Zero Trust, RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Defender for Cloud.

• Configure and manage networking and connectivity between regions, including VNet, VNet Peering, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway, employing high-availability strategies.

• Engage in planning, configuration, and execution of disaster recovery/business continuity planning (DR/BCP) tests across regions, including replication, failover, and rehearsals.

• Ensure that deployment standards, security policies, and operational procedure documentation are kept current.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in DevOps and cloud infrastructure management.

• Practical experience with Azure in production environments, including CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, specifically with Terraform or ARM/Bicep within Azure environments.

• Knowledge of security practices related to pipelines and infrastructure, including RBAC, Key Vault, and Managed Identities.

• Preferred experience in projects emphasizing high availability, disaster recovery (DR), or Multi-Region setups.

• Experience in the implementation and operation of Multi-Region CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, encompassing automated deployments, testing, and rollback strategies.

• IaC experience with Terraform and ARM/Bicep for Azure resource provisioning, including versioning and environment management across regions.

• Configuration and management of observability tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

• Security implementations for pipelines and infrastructure, including RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Defender for Cloud.

• Configuration of Azure networking across regions, specifically VNet Peering, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and failover strategies.

• Active participation in DR/BCP initiatives, including data replication, failover, and rehearsal execution.

• Familiarity with containers and orchestration through AKS, serverless technologies, and microservices architecture on Azure.

• Knowledge of hybrid and Multi-Region governance using Azure Arc and DevSecOps, including code scanning, SBOM, SCA, and security testing integrated into the pipeline.

• Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid architectures (Azure + AWS/GCP) is an advantage.

• Advanced automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI, including the creation of runbooks and incident response automation.

• Recommended certifications include AZ-400 and AZ-104 (desired), while AZ-500 is a plus.
