Senior Automation Test Engineer, Selenium – Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Establish and execute scalable automation methodologies that align with the broader testing strategy

• Create, develop, and sustain Selenium WebDriver scripts and testing plans

• Improve automation frameworks to enhance performance

• Oversee Selenium Grid and manage parallel execution

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows

• Work in collaboration with QA, developers, product teams, and stakeholders to address defects and ensure testing aligns with business objectives

• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers

• Engage in code reviews and share industry best practices

• Produce test metrics and evaluate outcomes

• Contribute to enhancements in quality processes and tools

• Conduct manual end-to-end testing as part of regular responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Automation Test Engineering

• Demonstrated expertise in Selenium WebDriver and a programming language such as Java

• Practical experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, Agile/Scrum practices, and test management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or TestRail

• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities for identifying test failures and expanding test coverage

• Regular utilization of AI tools to enhance productivity, automate or minimize repetitive tasks, support decision-making, and achieve higher-quality results

• Capability to use AI tools responsibly by formulating effective prompts, critically assessing outputs, understanding limitations, and taking responsibility for the final results

• Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams

• Openness to perform manual end-to-end testing

• Nice to have: experience with performance and accessibility testing tools such as JMeter or Locust

• Nice to have: knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure

• Nice to have: experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or CodeceptJS

• Nice to have: exposure to mobile test automation using Appium

• Nice to have: understanding of testing strategies for scalable, distributed systems
