
Senior Automation Estimator – Critical Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the automation estimating discipline for critical hyperscale and colocation data-center projects ranging from 10 MW to 200 MW.
• Oversee the complete proposal lifecycle, which includes reviewing RFPs, analyzing scopes, developing detailed cost models, and crafting successful strategies.
• Analyze RFPs, drawings, and specifications for BAS, PLC, DDC, SCADA, EPMS, DCIM, and OT network scopes.
• Generate labor and material take-offs, apply regional labor indices, and create bottom-up cost models.
• Advocate for value-engineering solutions that preserve Uptime Tier targets while minimizing capital and operational costs.
• Implement and manage estimating, bid-management, and budgeting tools and databases.
• Create Power BI dashboards for monitoring margin and estimating accuracy.
• Lead AI-assisted workflows and enhance preconstruction processes.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, negotiate terms and conditions, and uphold vendor pricing agreements.
• Conduct estimate review meetings with hyperscale owner teams, justifying cost drivers, productivity factors, and contingency reasoning.
• Assist business development by transforming conceptual budgets into actionable contracts.
• Mentor junior estimators and interns, and develop estimating SOPs and playbooks.
• Generate weekly and monthly KPI reports.
• Coordinate the transition from estimation to project execution, providing necessary handover documentation.
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables punctually and within budget.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of estimating experience with a systems integrator in the industrial automation or mission-critical sectors.
• Served as the lead estimator on a minimum of five mission-critical projects of 40 MW or more awarded to your organization.
• Advanced proficiency with PLC platforms, including Rockwell ControlLogix and Schneider M580.
• Advanced knowledge of DDC hardware such as Distech and Honeywell.
• Advanced understanding of SCADA/Historian software, including Ignition, AVEVA, and Tridium Niagara4.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical integration.
• Experience with bid-management platforms like BuildingConnected and Procore.
• Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and Power BI for reporting and KPI analysis.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 508A, ISA 88/95, ISA/IEC 62443, and Uptime Institute Tier Guidelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and commercial skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows.
• Ability to analyze market trends and effectively apply cost data.
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, partners, and internal teams.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with effective communication, organization, self-motivation, and a distraction-free workspace.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Skills in planning, delegating tasks, and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Preferred certifications include ASPE CPE, AACE International CCP, PMI PMP, and LEED GA.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%, potentially across all 50 U.S. states.
• A valid REAL ID or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport, will be required for business air travel starting May 7, 2025.
