This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Ensure efficient, scalable, and compliant import and export operations with a primary emphasis on U.S. imports.
• Execute and uphold HS/HTS classifications while assisting with ECCN determinations for semiconductor equipment, spare parts, components, electronics, software, and related technologies.
• Review and validate broker filings, customs documentation, customs valuation, country of origin declarations, and the applicability of trade remedies.
• Engage with CBP Requests for Information, audits, post-entry reviews, disclosures, and compliance inquiries.
• Design, document, and enhance import/export processes, controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and governance protocols.
• Create exception reporting, validation controls, systemic data feeds, and compliance monitoring metrics.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, compliance analytics, and exception reporting.
• Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and external service providers.
• Lead trade compliance projects, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.
• Coordinate with logistics providers, customs brokers, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Assist in internal and external audits and conduct periodic reviews of trade compliance controls and records.
• Monitor regulatory changes and present risk assessments and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's Level Degree with 8 years of related work experience, or Master's Level Degree with 6 years of related work experience, or Doctorate (Academic) Degree with 3 years of related work experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and import documentation.
• Solid grasp of ECCN classification, EAR requirements, and restricted party screening.
• Demonstrated experience in responding to customs audits and regulatory inquiries.
• Strong project management capabilities and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Experience within the semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or other technology sectors.
• Familiarity with SAP GTS, SAP, ACE reporting, or trade management systems.
• Proven experience in developing controls, validations, automation solutions, and exception-based monitoring.
• Advanced skills in Power BI dashboard development and data visualization.
• Proficient Excel skills, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and XLOOKUP.
• Ability to analyze extensive datasets and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
• Experience supporting workflow automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• LCB, CCS, CES, or similar certification is preferred.
