This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Carry out the commissioning and testing of protection and control systems for electric utility substations and plant locations for clients.
• Test and interface with IEDs, SCADA systems, communication media, RTUs, DFRs, IEC-61850 systems, and multifunction devices.
• Mark up design documents including Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List drawings.
• Conduct end-to-end testing procedures.
• Execute both manual and automated IED testing using Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta, and comparable test sets.
• Identify potential risks related to the testing and commissioning of protection and control systems.
• Create test plans, risk assessments, and practical applications for protection and control systems.
• Analyze project scope and drawing interpretations to formulate functional guidelines and risk assessments.
• Lead teams and projects within larger initiatives or provide technical and personnel leadership on specifically defined projects.
• Conduct weekly site safety inspections.
• Oversee the application of HP with Project Lead approval.
• Uphold the company's and clients' policies and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or an Associates/AET degree.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in relay testing and commissioning within substations.
• Experience in using a simple volt-ohm meter and working with hand tools.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary, and Wiring diagrams.
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of computer networks and Android/iPhone applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, mapping drive letters for server connections, and linking handheld applications to cloud services or other locations.
• Capability to perform regular fieldwork in diverse work environments, conditions, and weather scenarios.
• Ability to read company manuals, reports, and workplace rules and procedures.
• Effective verbal communication with poise and confidence, utilizing correct English.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Competence in communicating effectively in English, including reading and writing, due to safety-related documentation and client interactions.
• Sign-on/Relocation Bonus up to $10k.
