Senior Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of sophisticated automation solutions utilizing Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, desktop automation, and other complementary enterprise automation tools.

• Convert ambiguous or intricate business processes into secure, scalable technical solutions while evaluating automation suitability, value, risk, dependencies, and operational impacts.

• Revitalize legacy and user-interface-driven automations by adopting API-first and event-driven models using REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, custom connectors, plugins, scripting, and cloud services.

• Contribute to the architecture of automation solutions, platform roadmaps, reusable patterns, and technical standards.

• Implement and uphold application lifecycle management and DevOps practices, encompassing source control, automated testing, CI/CD, environment strategies, managed releases, configuration management, and rollback planning.

• Enhance observability and operational resilience through logging, monitoring, alerting, exception handling, retry patterns, runbooks, and measurable service performance.

• Integrate security, privacy, auditability, and least-privilege access into the design of solutions.

• Assess and utilize intelligent automation capabilities, including AI-assisted workflows, document processing, Copilot or agent functionalities, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex production incidents, identifying systemic improvements.

• Create and sustain documentation for solution design, architecture, processes, testing, deployment, operations, and support.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product and delivery teams, architects, data teams, and infrastructure teams to execute automation initiatives and articulate technical trade-offs.

• Mentor engineers and developers, perform design and code reviews, and advance engineering practices through reusable components, documentation, and knowledge sharing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in automation engineering, software engineering, robotic process automation, application development, or a closely related role.

• Strong hands-on experience in delivering production solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate cloud and desktop flows, Power Apps, and Dataverse, or a similar enterprise automation platform.

• Experience in system integration through REST APIs, custom connectors, databases, event-driven services, or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or C#.

• Proficiency with source control, CI/CD, multi-environment deployment, testing, release management, and production support.

• Capability to lead technical design for complex initiatives, work independently, communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, and mentor other practitioners.

• Preferred: Microsoft Power Platform certification, UiPath certification, or comparable automation or cloud credential.

• Preferred: Experience with UiPath or another enterprise RPA platform.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure or AWS services, identity and access management, secrets management, Microsoft Graph, enterprise data platforms, Salesforce, SharePoint, SAP, or Snowflake.

• Preferred: Experience implementing governance, security, and audit controls in financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry.

• Preferred: Experience with intelligent automation, AI Builder, Copilot Studio, document intelligence, machine learning, or agentic workflow patterns.

• Preferred: Experience in establishing reusable components, platform standards, operating models, or citizen-development guardrails.
