This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage in client projects from initiation to completion
• Deliver consulting services with oversight from managers, senior managers, and principals
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, manage their expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change initiatives
• Suggest enhancements in business processes and internal controls while acting as a business advisor to clients
• Collaborate with team members to strategize, develop, and execute project activities
• Perform research, gather data, conduct fact-finding, analyze data, document engagements, and prepare reports
• Assist in project management, monitor progress, manage document repositories, and ensure the quality of deliverables
• Engage in business development and client service initiatives within the governmental accounting sector
• Execute planning, testing, and documentation in accordance with GAAS and GAGAS
• Conduct audits following established audit program guidelines
• Research relevant laws, guidelines, and reference materials
• Stay informed on current governmental accounting and auditing standards
• Understand and manage firm risks associated with audits and proposals
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least five years of progressive professional experience in governmental accounting, general-ledger reconciliations, financial-statement reviews, and federal-grant financial management under GASB and 2 CFR § 200 within the last six years
• A minimum of three years of hands-on experience applying Medicaid statutory and regulatory standards, including 42 CFR Part 438, within the last four years
• Understanding of Medicaid capitation reconciliations, PMPM financial structures, and FFP reporting
• Expertise in reconciling complex financial data sourced from MMIS/PRMMIS, EDI 835/834 files, and Medicaid enterprise financial systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Capability to work independently, juggle multiple assignments, and deliver quality results within deadlines
• Ability to foster positive working relationships with staff and a diverse range of stakeholders
• Familiarity with quality assurance/control processes and proactive problem-solving
• CPA license or Certified Government Financial Manager credential is preferred
• Willingness to travel to client locations, including U.S. territories, up to 40%
