Senior Audit and Financial Reporting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive audit engagements in line with Australian Auditing Standards (ASA).

• Develop audit planning documentation, which includes risk assessments, materiality calculations, and audit programs.

• Carry out substantive testing, analytical procedures, and evaluations of internal controls.

• Recognize and evaluate audit issues and their implications on financial statements.

• Compile audit working papers and relevant supporting documentation.

• Finalize audit completion procedures, such as subsequent events reviews and assessments of going concern.

• Draft management letters and relay audit findings to engagement teams.

• Prepare audit clearance files for review by managers and partners.

• Create general purpose financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).

• Generate consolidated financial statements when necessary.

• Formulate accounting policies, disclosures, notes to the financial statements, and supporting schedules.

• Prepare cash flow statements and reconcile financial statements.

• Ensure adherence to Australian financial reporting and disclosure regulations.

• Investigate and document technical accounting treatments.

• Implement AASB and ASA requirements across audit and financial reporting assignments.

• Investigate and interpret complex accounting and auditing issues.

• Evaluate disclosure necessities and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian accounting, auditing, and regulatory advancements.

• Exercise professional judgment in line with ethical and professional standards.

• Engage professionally with Australian managers, partners, and client finance teams.

• Oversee multiple audit and reporting assignments concurrently.

• Review the work of junior team members as needed.

• Appropriately escalate technical challenges and engagement risks.

• Contribute to enhancements in audit quality and process efficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification (or an equivalent recognized in Australia).

• At least 5 years of experience in external audit and financial reporting within the Australian regulatory framework.

• Proven experience in managing Australian audit engagements from planning to completion.

• Strong understanding of Australian Auditing Standards (ASA).

• Profound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).

• Experience in preparing general purpose financial statements for Australian entities.

• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills suited for an Australian professional setting.

• Capability to work independently while managing multiple engagements concurrently.
